I just got back from a little four day trip with my oldest son to Las Vegas. He will be graduating college in May from Penn State and we went out to spend some time together just me and him. We had a great time and as I usually do on vacation, I ate and drank whatever I wanted. I didn’t overindulge, but I didn’t hold back either.
Here’s a shot from outside of the Hard Rock Cafe on the last night that we were in Vegas, what a cool place! If you like music, you should check it out.
When I got home last night, I ate dinner with my wife and the rest of the kids and had a nice glass of wine. When I weighed myself this morning, I gained four pounds total while on vacation. Not too bad, I don’t think, considering the amount of salt, sugar, and alcohol that I took in while in Vegas. Once I fast tomorrow after dinner and get back in the groove of things, I am confident that I will be back down to where I was before I left.
I fasted the day before I left and didn’t fast or even exercise while away. This is actually the worst case scenario and still gained very little weight. Normally, I would gain a lot more weight on vacation or over a holiday unless I really watched what I ate. I am convinced even more that intermittent fasting, the Eat-Stop-Eat way, is the best way to cut your calories while still enjoying life the majority of the time.
So in reality, intermittent fasting may not of made my vacation funner, but it sure takes the guilt away once I am back home. If you haven’t given it a try, I really feel that you are missing out and need to check it out now. I am really looking forward to the next few months, because I only have around another eight pounds to lose before I am really tight. I am already in great shape and am leaner than most other 41 year old guys. Once I lose this last amount of weight, I will be not only in the best shape of my life, but in better shape than most guys that I see in the gym at any age.
Whether you wish to lose a few pounds or fifty pounds, I know that if you follow a progressive resistance training program like Turbulence Training and cut your calories with Intermittent Fasting, you will be well on your way. It really isn’t that hard, it’s calories in versus calories out, while doing some sort of progressive resistance training. Don’t let the media or the supplement companies make it harder than it really is.
Let me know what has been your biggest stumbling block so far and I will show you how simple it can really be. Here’s an older post that I wrote about this, check it out:

I like to use fasting around holidays. I cut back on food before after big dinners etc so I can eat whatever I want on the actual day.
